Michael learnt to ring after getting hooked on a day trip to Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin with his Granny, Jean Jeffery (also a member of the Society) in 2004, and became a member of the band at St Donard's, Belfast. During this time Michael served in various posts including Assistant and Master for the Northern District of the IACR. Michael joined the Society in January 2008 while still living in Northern Ireland and would regularly attend country meetings and other Society events. After moving to London in 2010, Michael started ringing regularly with the Society and got involved mainly in peal ringing. When not in the tower, Michael works as a Civil Servant by day and can be found in many of London's refreshment establishments by night.

What does the Junior Steward do?
The Junior Steward is also involved at London practices as the person who collects steepleage. They deputise for the Senior Steward or Master as required and are the person who meets & greets visitors (although of course other people do this too!). The Junior Steward often gets involved with organising regular Society events - booking peal towers, evening venues or helping with organising peal bands. Much of the role involves assisting the Treasurer in collecting and recording peals and monies.
