Report from May Business Meeting - May 2nd

On Wednesday 2nd of May we held a general meeting in the Shooting Star after a practice at Shoreditch. This was was well attended despite the absence of members on the Australia trip, with the influx of members up for proposal and their supporters. It was an enjoyable and not too drawn out meeting despite the fact that we had to listen to 2 sets of minutes being read out! Thankfully the beer didn't run out this time.

During the course of the meeting we stood in memory of Anne Bethel, Alfred House and John F Jennings, who have recently died.

We elected 3 new members, Christine K Cable, Matthew D Hetherington and Catherine MA Lane - congratulations and welcome to all.

Jo Fielding and Liz Hibbert, along with other members, were thanked for their work in the clearing of St Martin's in preparation for the building works.

Congratulations were passed to Ian Fielding for recently ringing his 2000th peal.

The next meeting will be our country meeting in Nottingshamshire on the 14th of July.
