March Country Meeting Report

This years March Country Meeting was kindly hosted by Roger and Rosemary Palmer based around Fordham, Cambridgeshire. The day consisted of the usual format of events with peals, general ringing and a social. Six peals were attempted in the morning and although Melbourn was lost, the other five were successfully scored at Fordham, St Neots, Ely, Godmanchester and Meldreth involving over 50 members.

The afternoon consisted of some general ringing at Swaffham Bulbeck, Soham and the interesting sounding six at Isleham. Tea and cakes at Fordham's Victoria Hall were much appreciated, as was the short business meeting meaning that there was plenty of time for drinking at The Crown before supper. Supper itself (for over 70 people), was a choice of fish, sausage, chicken or veggie burger and chips with apple pie for pudding and plenty more socialising to go with it though out the evening.
