2008 12 Bell Competition Information

As you all should know by now, the Society has qualified for the 12 Bell Competition final to be held in Lincoln on Saturday 28 June.

Transport

For those who are interested in attending (ringing or not), there are rail engineering works from Grantham to Newark on that weekend. If you are going by public transport, Becky Sugden is organising a bus for part of the journey. Below are some details from Becky:

"I have booked a coach to take us from Peterborough to Lincoln. The cost for the coach will be between £12 and £14 depending on how many confirm they want to come. The coach company have advised that we need to leave 2 hours to get to Lincoln so the plan is to leave Peterborough at 8:30am.

For those getting the train from Kings Cross there is a train which leaves at 7:10 getting to Peterborough for 7:56. The cost of a return to Peterborough (valid for travel on National Express) is £24.60 (£16.25 for those with railcards).

Please can you confirm by the 9th June if you want to come on the coach. I will send out an email confirming how much the coach is once I have final numbers. I would appreciate it people could then either transfer the money into my account or give me a cheque.

The coach may provide some amusement as it looks very much like an old school bus. Also, there is no toilet on the coach so those planning on drinking a lot may want to take this into consideration before leaving Lincoln..."

If you want to use this bus option, then please contact Becky. It will strictly be a first come-first served basis until the bus is full. Seats are limited.

Whether you use this transport option or not, it will be good to see as many members as possible in Lincoln as it's always a good social occasion (as well as the ringing)!
