Welcome Guest

The country meeting in July will be based in Leicestershire with the meeting at Sapcote in the south of the county, near to the Warwickshire border.
There will be the usual peals during Thursday, Friday and Saturday and one on Sunday.

The provisional plan for Saturday is to end a tower tour with afternoon ringing at Sapcote, (10 bells, 9-1-26). Tea and light refreshments will be available in the church hall during the afternoon and prior to the meeting which will be held in church.

The evening venue will be at Stanton Lakes and take the form of a hog roast. Stanton Lakes is bar/restaurant alongside a Jet Ski lake and is situated about half way between the villages of Sapcote and Broughton Astley (not to be confused with the National Diving Centre at Stoney Cove). See www.stantonlakes.com

This is a Greene King public house serving the usual pub food with motel rooms alongside. There are 25 rooms and I have negotiated a price of £45-00/double/night bed and breakfast. You will need to mention the SRCY when booking. You can see the rooms at http://www.millonthesoar-broughton.co.uk/hotel-accommodation/Leicestershire

This motel is within walking distance of Stanton Lakes (1/2 mile)

Other accommodation is available locally; both Stoney Stanton and Sapcote are within walking distance from Stanton Lakes (Sapcote via a well walked bridle path).

Since the National Diving Centre is also situated between Sapcote and Stoney Stanton the local accommodation becomes booked very early so I would suggest you book as soon as you know you are coming.

Other places to try:

The Red Lion, Sapcote. http://www.sapcote.org.uk/Pubs/red_lion
This is our local and now the only pub in the village. They have two twin rooms and one single. They also have a porta cabin that serves as family accommodation but I think this could be a bit run down and I have not been in it for a while. Bookings are taken via various web sites but if you wanted to ring Cliff or Jane direct the number is 01455 272341

Willowmead Guest House http://www.willowmeadguesthouse.co.uk
36 Stanton Road, Sapcote. Tel: 01455 273545
You will receive a very warm welcome from Joyce and Bob O'Brian but this place is very popular with the divers.

The Dive Inn, Bed & Breakfast

These places are within walking distance of Stanton Lakes although the Dive Inn and Fossebrook will both be at least a mile walk. There are several other places locally and can be viewed at http://www.hotelsguesthouses.co.uk/Sapcote-Leicestershire/

Hinckley, Earl Shilton and Burbage are all about  5 miles away. There is a Premier Inn at Braunstone, Leicester which is on the south side of the city about 1 mile from the M1 and the right side of the city for Sapcote, about 9 miles.
