July Country Meeting - Shropshire
Plans are under way for the July Country Meeting which will be based in Cleobury Mortimer near the Shropshire / Worcestershire border. More details will follow but here is a brief outline.
The Saturday peal attempts and the tour will be reasonably accessible to Ludlow where there will be with ringing in the afternoon. Both the meeting and evening event (a barn dance) will be in Cleobury Mortimer.
The peal attempt towers for Thursday will be on the Worcestershire side of Cleobury and those on Friday in the Kidderminster / Black country direction.
It is sure to be, as usual, a fun filled weekend. Please put the date in your diaries, and email the Assistant Secretary if you would like to express an interest. There will be a sign up sheet on the website in due course.
There are 2 places to stay listed in the town itself, so if you don't want to drive, book early!

A little further afield
Bewdley, Ludlow and to a lesser extent Tenbury Wells are rather larger and quite popular with tourists. There is a selection of hotels etc. including a Wetherspoons in Bewdley and a Travel Lodge on the Ludlow bye-pass. There is also, for anyone feeling flush, out to impress or both The Feathers in Ludlow.

Self-Catering
The Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club (01299 271112) has a number of bungalows which it will let on a weekly or daily basis. I believe it is possible to get breakfast in the clubhouse and the café in Cleobury Mortimer is open from 7.00am Monday/Saturday and 8.30am on Sunday.
