Informal Dinner - 11th September
The Society will be holding an informal dinner on Saturday 11th September. There will be peals in the morning in London and the dinner in the evening will be in the Globe Restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Shoreditch.
The Crowne Plaza is at 100 Shoreditch High Street, just before you get to the church, on the same side of the road. The rooftop restaurant provides a very different view from that to which we've all become accustomed during our many hours spent nearby in the tower, and a very apt setting for an SRCY dinner.
Complimentary drinks will be served at 7 with the dinner starting at 7.30pm.
The menu for the dinner is:
Gorgonzola and parsnip salad with blushed tomato, parsnip crisps, curly endive and grated Gorgonzola cheese with garlic croutons (V)
or
Red lentil and coriander soup with natural yoghurt
or
Mosaique or pressed duck terrine, Confit duck, dates and pistachios, with plum pickle and grilled bread
Wild mushroom tortellini with shaved parmesan, roquette and herb salsa (V)
or
Medallions of pork loin with bubble and squeak, apple fritters and rosemary jus
or
Stuffed plaice fillet with salmon mousseline parsley potatoes, smoked pepper sauce and mange-tout
Blackcurrant cheesecake with brunoise of fruits
or
Dark chocolate tart and pressed mandarins
Special dietary requirements can be catered for if you let us know in advance
The ticket price is £29 per person if paying by cheque or cash. You can also pay by Paypal, please see prices below if you would like to do this. The ticket price includes a drink on arrival as well as tea or coffee after the meal. Real Ale (Abbey Bellringer) will be available as well as the standard drinks list in the restaurant.
Sign up for peals and the dinner is available is available on the website now for members only, where you can also give your menu choices. Alternatively you can sign up by contacting the Assistant Secretary. The deadline for signing up for this event is Friday 3rd September.
